If you are taking an Alaska cruise (and everyone should!) you may fly to or from Anchorage. Many cruises depart from or arrive at Seward, not Anchorage, even though you will fly to Anchorage. If you are doing an itinerary such as an inside passage cruise, you may begin or end your cruise in Seward. So, you will need to find your way between Seward and Anchorage. Seward is several hours away from Anchorage by road or train.

While many people enjoy watching the scenery while taking a train or coach transfer, there is a way to see a lot more. LBL Travel recommends taking a small group or private tour with one of our preferred suppliers. You will enjoy a leisurely transfer between Anchorage and Seward with many stops made along the way. For departures, you will arrive with plenty of time before the ship sails. For arrivals, you will be dropped off at your Anchorage hotel or the airport.

Your transfer may include:

  • Beluga Point, Exit Glacier, and other photo stops
  • Alyeska Tramway in Girdwood
  • Lunch
  • Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

When we visited Alaska, the Salmon had started running, so our tour included an extra stop to watch the salmon fighting their way upstream!
