On our recent visit to Georgetown, in Washington, D.C., we visited the boutique Ritz-Carlton Georgetown hotel. The hotel is the perfectly located on a quiet side street in Georgetown and in walking distance of shops, dining, nightclubs, and the waterfront.
The Georgetown neighborhood features some of Washington’s best shopping and dining. Don’t miss browsing the shops along M Street! There is also Washington history at your doorstep, such as the C&O Canal and Old Stone House. Downtown Washington, the National Mall, and other major attractions are within a 2 mile radius, making this a great base for your visit to the nation’s capital.
When we walked into the hotel it is was like finding our home away from home. The living room and restaurant are welcoming and intimate. The common areas are decorated in warm colors which complement the industrial brick building. The Degree bistro has delicious hand-crafted cocktails and artisanal dishes.
The rooms are decorated in calming and contemporary colors. Very relaxing! We saw the premier suite, shown below. It has corner windows making the living room bright and airy. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed with a luxurious stone-finished en-suite. This room can connect to a premier room.
The premier room, below, is decorated similarly to the suite. This room type can either have two double beds or a king. Families should take note that there are very few double bed rooms in this hotel, so book early! Even though the hotel is near the Potomac River, there are no river views from the hotel.
The Ritz-Carlton Georgtown has a spa featuring exclusive ESPA products and treatments. There are wellness room located on the Spa floor focused on comfort, relaxation, and fitness.
The hotel also has complimentary bikes that are ideal for exploring Washington, D.C.’s museums, landmarks, and neighborhoods.
We recommend staying at least 3 nights to enjoy the spa, shopping, museums, monuments, theater, and more. This property is ideal for a family trip or a romantic getaway. Don’t forget the famous Cherry Blossom Festival at the end of March!
