We recently visited a brand new hotel in Washington, DC: the Conrad Washington DC. It only opened a few months ago and is already accepted into the exclusive Virtuoso network. The hotel is located downtown steps away from the monuments.
The entrance is slightly unusual, as guests arrive on the ground floor but the lobby is located on the third floor. However, when we entered we were welcomed and shown up to the lobby. The Conrad is a modern luxury hotel with a stunning pendant light in the curvy mesh covered atrium.
Luxurious rooms and suites
All the rooms at the hotel feature floor to ceiling windows, offering panoramic views of the city. The rooms are decorated in a natural relaxing colors. For people with lots of electronic devices, it’s worth noting that there are numerous AC and USB sockets throughout each room. Also, if you are a tea lover like me, there are tea kettles in each room. Don’t worry if you’re a coffee lover, there is a coffee machine too. The room below is a studio suite, which is perfect for families as it can connect to a room with 2 beds.
Also, this hotel is debuting a new exclusive club called Sakura Club. Sakura means cherry blossom. The club offers a dedicated professional team, gourmet dining three times a day, and evening cocktails. Each day the menu is inspired by a different country. We found the chef serving Moroccan food during our visit.
Drinking and dining
The Conrad’s roof features a bar which only opened a few weeks ago. The rooftop bar offers amazing views of the city and delicious drinks.
The restaurant in the hotel is called Estuary. It is named after the largest estuary in the United States, the Chesapeake Bay, and is where the ingredients are sourced. The restaurant is small with views into the open kitchen. We really enjoyed the food and highly recommend making a reservation here.
