I had the opportunity to visit two different Virtuoso hotels in Nashville recently. Each hotel had its own unique character and style. Nashville has something for everyone!

The first hotel is the Thompson. It is located in the Gulch, a luxurious and high-end downtown neighborhood. The perfect location for shopping, trying new restaurants, and dancing in the honky-tonks on Broadway. The Thompson is a luxury boutique hotel with contemporary style. It has a delicious southern seafood restaurant (Marsh House) and a coffee shop (Killebrew) on the first floor. However, the roof bar (L.A. Jackson) was where it was happening, with views of downtown and tasty cocktails.

The rooms are spacious and decorated in a bright minimalist decor with hints of the music scene. I stayed in a Neighborhood View King Room and visited an Executive Suite. The lower category rooms only have a walk-in shower so if you prefer a bath you will need to reserve a suite.

The second hotel is The Hermitage Hotel, I only visited this hotel but wish I had the chance to stay a night. The Hermitage Hotel is Nashville’s original and longest standing hotel. Don’t worry, it was recently renovated while keeping its sophisticated classic style. It is located downtown in the historic neighborhood next to the state Capitol. The lobby of the hotel is breathtaking with 5 different kinds of marble and a stained glass ceiling. You could spend all day sitting on one of the sumptuous velvet chairs marveling at the art and enjoying the quite oasis.

The rooms are spacious and decorated in a luxurious classic style. The room I toured was the Grand King Deluxe room that had views of the State Capitol building. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower. You could even watch TV while having a bath as there was a TV built into the mirror.

Since the hotel has been around a while it has some unique features, for example the men’s restroom next to the Oak Bar has been restored to its original art deco style with purple and green glass tiles.

Both hotels are part of the Virtuoso network of the world’s best hotels. When you book through LBL Travel, you will get many included amenities such as upgrade on arrival (subject to availability), complimentary full breakfast for two daily, $100 food & beverage credit, and early check-in/late check-out (subject to availability).
